NANCY PIONK
A WHOLISTIC APPROACH TO CHANGE AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
HOW DO I APPROACH COACHING?
I work with clients on a one-on-one basis, in a group or a three-way approach that includes involvement of the sponsor or supervisor as part of the coaching engagement.
ONE–ON–ONE AND GROUPS
In the one-on-one approach, I work solely with the client to identify goals for the coaching engagement and measurements of success. I approach coaching from “a whole person perspective,” i.e. a client’s work in coaching usually has impact in all areas of the client’s life. Consequently, work on a professional goal can positively impact the client’s personal goals as well. A typical coaching experience will include identification of goals, self-observation by the client, and exercises and skill-building that are part of a plan that the client and I build together.

THREE–WAY APPROACH
In the three-way interaction, several initial meetings are scheduled to determine if this coaching approach is feasible. I meet with the client and the sponsor separately in initial sessions. The purpose of these session is to provide information about the coaching engagement and my approach to coaching, learn a little about the coaching goals from each person's perspective and for each to determine if the engagement would be a good fit. I also explore the client's motivation and interest in participating in the three-way coaching approach
Once the coaching contract is established, I meet separately with the sponsor and client for a deeper exploration of the coaching goals and expectations. The purpose of the sponsor meeting is to get the organization’s perspective on what they want the coaching to achieve for the client and how they will determine success of the engagement. We also discuss what the sponsor might need to do to increase the chances of success in the coaching contract.
I then facilitate a three-way meeting between myself, the client and the sponsor for the client and sponsor to have a conversation about the mutual expectations/goals for the client and how they will measure success.
The coaching engagement would continue between myself and the client on a confidential basis with periodic check-ins as needed with the sponsor. At the end of the coaching engagement, there would be another three-way meeting to review progress.
POLICIES AND FEES
I offer potential clients a complimentary session to explore where coaching is a good fit between us. Coaching sessions may be purchased in packages or 1 hour increments.
CANCELLATIONS
It is important to maintain a consistent contact during this engagement for the development process to be effective. If it is necessary to cancel a session, I require 24 hours’ notice. I reserve the right to retain the fee for a session cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.
